A food supplement based on evening primrose oil. The oil extracted from its seeds is used in the treatment of various conditions, especially dermatological, as well as for the treatment of manifestations of premenstrual syndrome and some symptoms of menopause (fluid retention, hot flushes, dry mucous membranes).

* Evening primrose oil is made up of essential, unsaturated fatty acids, especially cis-linoleic, gamma-linolenic, oleic and saturated fatty acids such as palmitic and stearic.

* Evening primrose contains an essential fatty acid, omega- 6, gamalinolenic acid (GLA), which is considered its active ingredient.

* Being a food rich in gamma-linolenic acid, it promotes the production of prostaglandin E1, a hormone with anti-inflammatory effects.
